Spring in Virginia has a particular kind of energy — everything is waking up, and so is the art. The 12th Annual Arlington Festival of the Arts brings together the finest handmade work from across the country to the streets of Clarendon. I love this show because the audience truly looks — they slow down, they ask questions, they lean in close to the canvas. That kind of attention means the world to me as an artist.
